Saturday July 2, 2011 On Airplane

On the United Airlines airplane we were served an appetizer of smoked salmon, a rice cake, and a small salad.  I wasn’t able to eat the salmon because of a shellfish allergy.  For the main meal we were served grilled chicken with a cheese sauce on it and some mixed rice on the side.  This gluten free meal was available from my parents informing the airline in advance of our gluten free needs.  For dessert we were served mango sorbet with an outer shell of white chocolate.  There was also an option of grapes and cheese for dessert.  I would rate the service 5 out of 5 stars since they willingly brought us dinner and then a small snack in the morning.  My mom must also avoid dairy.  When she called the airline, they were not able to provide a dairy free meal.  She enjoyed the smoked salmon, small salad and rice cake.  The chicken was covered with the cheese sauce so she was not able to eat the chicken.

This is the salmon that was served before the main course.
